Great Gatsby : Narrator intro close reading task

How does FitzgeraldĀ paint Nick as a narrator? what qualities is he given?

Fitzgerald shows nick as the narrator by being painting him as unjudgemental from the start. In the first paragraph, he talks about how his father taught him never to judge because everyone goes through different things and as a consequence he has inclined to never judge. This means he won’t be biased through the story and tell it exactly how it is. He is honest and keeps his thoughts to himself.Language features that this are “turning over in my mind”

“in my younger and most vulnerable year” they are both connotations or emotive language
